Popcorn

Background Information:
Popcorn grows through the summer and is left on the stalk until dry. We harvest the dried ears in November, and send them out whole for members to remove the kernels from the cob.

Basic Cooking Strategies:
Once the kernels are removed from the cob, cook over high temperature with oil, until all the kernels are popped. The whole cobs can be cooked in the microwave for 1-2 minutes, in a paper bag, but watch carefully for burning.

Storage Information:
The popcorn ears can be stored on your counter, for 3-4 months. The kernels, once removed from the cob can keep in a sealed container for up to a year.
