1/2 pound of whole fava beans per person

Lemon or orange wedges
On a hot grill, place the fava beans opposite the direction of the grill slats. Allow them to char, cooking them for about 10 minutes, turning once or twice. Remove from the grill and serve at the table with salt and citrus wedges. Have each person peel his or her own beans, then sprinkle with salt and lemon.
